Finding company profiles and news articles in BSP:
At the top of the BSP web page, you'll see a blue bar with links to various items; one of these is "Company Profiles." Click on this to get downloadable company profiles from Datamonitor, a well-known and reputable purveyor of company and business data. Key information presented in Datamonitor reports include sales, employees, SWOT analyses, and primary competitors.

To find news about the company, enter the correct name of the company (for example, "Costco Wholesale Corporations," not "Costco") in the search interface. You'll find the correct name by looking in the Company Profiles listing. Make sure to specify in the drop-down menu in the search interface that you're searching by "CO Company Entity."

    1995 to present
Sponsored by the Executive Office of the President and located at the Web site of the U.S. Government Printing Office, the report explains the rational for the budget submitted to Congress. Of particular interest are the tables that cover income, production, and employment in time series (Diana Hacker, 2003).
  North American Industry Classification System
North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) has replaced the U.S. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system. This site includes tables to NAICS-to-SIC and SIC-to-NAICS conversion. NAICS is the key to using and understanding economic statistics collected by the U.S. Census Bureau.
  Securities and Exchange Commission: EDGAR Database of Corporate Information
Provides information about publicly held corporations, which are required by federal law to file reports on their activities with the Securites and Exchange Commission. Most reports filed from 1994 to the present are publicly available through EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval System) on this site. The information about each company includes financial status, chief officers, stock information, company history, pending litigation that might have an economic impact on the company, and more (Diana Hacker, 2003).
